Diverse Lehrauftr\u00e4ge und eine Professurvertretung schlossen sich an. Die mehrfach ausgezeichnete K\u00fcnstlerin ist u.a. The daycare center is accessible from the street. This side of the building has no windows, and the reddish-brown painted wooden facade is largely covered with climbing plants. The children, the building\u2019s principal users, see a fresh and novel structure that stands out from the surrounding apartment buildings as they approach the daycare center.<\/p>\n<p>Carolina Kreusch has installed her artwork welcome to make the entrance more visible from a distance and create a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. One function of art in architecture is to make buildings more personal, distinct, and singular. People\u2019s sense of belonging to such architectural structures is already established in the entrance area, where they look for their keys or are let in through an open door. This sense of connection and belonging helps people feel more connected and secure.<\/p>\n<p>The artist\u2019s colorful works possess all the qualities that make entering a safe and welcoming place like this center even more pleasing. Colors create a sense of belonging and help to personalize the building. Presumably, human color perception can only be compared to that of bees to a limited extent. Nonetheless, it is well known that bees recognize the entrance to their hives by the colors applied to them. They, too, want to feel a sense of belonging as they do not survive well on their own. In humans, the matter is possibly more subtle and complicated. Entry situations in buildings are often sad affairs; the idea of entering a hopefully better world is not made easy. One frequently wishes to get in and out quickly. The possibility of raising one\u2019s head and seeing something beautiful is a hope in which few can indulge. <\/p>\n<p>Carolina Kreusch\u2019s colorful surfaces have landed on the building\u2019s facade like friendly UFOs, as if by magic, in all the right places. The wooden objects consist of five different polyhedra. A polygon serves as the base for each one, and the three-dimensionality is created by shifting the perspective of these surfaces. Arranged in a protruding or recessed manner, they create a three-dimensional effect. Yet, these attractive flying objects seem to be tempted to reconsider. One wonders if they might fly up briefly like butterflies and then settle again in other, equally harmonious places. It is the apparent ease of the correct placement that makes us believe this deception. The works are both cheerful and elegant. They look like large flowers, and, in a magical place, they would have simply grown out of the green facade. They possess the attraction of the transient and yet the permanence of all-weather flowers. The children see them in all seasons as they approach the building, when the sun is shining, when the leaves are falling, or during snow flurries. The works are sure to be loved by the children and their adult caregivers. The artworks foster a sense of belonging and confidence on good days and provide comfort on difficult days. Haus wendet sich mit vielen Fenstern dem gesch\u00fctzten Garten und dem Spielplatz zu. Man betritt den Kinderhort von der Stra\u00dfenseite her. Diese Seite des Geb\u00e4udes ist fensterlos, die rotbraun gestrichene Holzfassade ist zu gr\u00f6\u00dferen Teilen mit Rankpflanzen begr\u00fcnt. Die Kinder als mehrheitliche Nutzende des Horts sehen beim N\u00e4herkommen ein Geb\u00e4ude, das sich durch Frische von der Umgebung der Mehrfamilienh\u00e4user abhebt, ohne dabei unangenehm markant zu sein. Es ist die schlichtere R\u00fcckseite des Geb\u00e4udes. <\/p>\n<p>Auch um den Eingang schon aus einiger Entfernung noch sichtbarer zu machen, um ein freundliches Willkommen zu schaffen, hat Carolina Kreusch dort eine k\u00fcnstlerische Arbeit platziert, die sie sinnigerweise \u201ewelcome\u201c nennt. Eine Funktion von Kunst am Bau ist es, Geb\u00e4ude zu personalisieren, sie noch ein St\u00fcck unverwechselbarer und einzigartiger zu machen. Die Zugeh\u00f6rigkeit der Menschen zu einem Geb\u00e4ude wird im Eingangsbereich festgestellt, man sucht den Schl\u00fcssel oder wird durch eine ge\u00f6ffnete T\u00fcr eingelassen. Es soll eine angenehme Zugeh\u00f6rigkeit sein, das ist ein sehr wichtiges, elementares Gef\u00fchl. Das \u00d6ffnen der T\u00fcr bedeutet f\u00fcr die Kinder den Zutritt zu einer Welt, in der sie sich aufgehoben und gut betreut f\u00fchlen wollen. <\/p>\n<p>Die farbigen Arbeiten der K\u00fcnstlerin haben alle Qualit\u00e4ten, den Eintritt in eine geborgene Welt angenehm zu gestalten. Farben schaffen Zugeh\u00f6rigkeit, sind in der Lage zu personalisieren. Vermutlich kann der Farbsinn von Menschen nur bedingt mit dem Farbsinn von Bienen verglichen werden. Bekanntlich ist es aber so, dass Bienen den Eingang zu ihren K\u00e4sten an den aufgebrachten Farben erkennen. Auch sie wollen sich zu etwas zugeh\u00f6rig f\u00fchlen, weil sie allein nur schlecht existieren k\u00f6nnen. Bei Menschen ist die Sache m\u00f6glicherweise subtiler und wie immer komplizierter. Eingangssituationen sind bei Geb\u00e4uden h\u00e4ufig eine traurige Angelegenheit, der Eintritt in eine erhofft bessere Welt wird einem nicht einfach gemacht. Man m\u00f6chte die Sache schnell hinter sich bringen. Den Kopf zu heben und etwas Sch\u00f6nes zu sehen, wie selten k\u00f6nnen wir uns dieser Hoffnung hingeben. <\/p>\n<p>Die Farbfl\u00e4chen von Carolina Kreusch sind wie freundlich gesinnte Ufos auf der Fassade des Geb\u00e4udes gelandet, wie von Zauberhand an den richtigen Stellen. Bei den Holzobjekten handelt es sich um f\u00fcnf verschiedene Polyeder. Ein Vieleck dient jeweils als Grundfl\u00e4che, die K\u00f6rperhaftigkeit entsteht durch perspektivische Verschiebung dieser Fl\u00e4chen. Vor- oder zur\u00fcckspringend angeordnet bewirken sie eine dreidimensionale Optik. Diese attraktiven Flugobjekte scheinen aber in Versuchung zu sein, es sich noch einmal anders zu \u00fcberlegen. Man tr\u00e4umt davon, sie k\u00f6nnten wie Schmetterlinge kurz auffliegen, um sich dann wieder an anderen, ebenso stimmigen Pl\u00e4tzen niederzulassen. Es ist die scheinbare Leichtigkeit der richtigen Setzung, die uns das tr\u00fcgerisch glauben macht. Die Arbeiten sind heiter, doch auch elegant. Sie wirken wie gro\u00dfe Bl\u00fcten, und im Zauberland w\u00e4ren sie einfach aus der begr\u00fcnten Fassade gewachsen. Sie haben die Attraktion des Fl\u00fcchtigen, sind dabei aber best\u00e4ndig \u2013 Allwetterblumen. Die Kinder sehen sie zu allen Jahreszeiten, wenn sie auf das Geb\u00e4ude zugehen, bei Sonne, beim Flug der Bl\u00e4tter oder im Schneetreiben. Die Arbeiten sind geeignet, von den Kindern des Horts ebenso wie von den dort arbeitenden Erwachsenen geliebt zu werden. Im besten Fall schaffen sie Zugeh\u00f6rigkeit und Zuversicht an guten Tagen, Trost an problematischen Tagen.<\/p>\n","werk_txt_context":"<p>Das QUIVID-Kunstwerk &#8220;welcome&#8221; von Carolina Kreusch entstand f\u00fcr den Neubau des Kinderhorts am Kreuzerweg 28 im Stadtbezirk 15, Trudering-Riem. Die K\u00fcnstlerin wurde aus einer von der Kommission f\u00fcr Kunst am Bau und im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum erstellten Vorschlagsliste ausgew\u00e4hlt und eingeladen, ein ortsspezifisches Kunstwerk f\u00fcr den Neubau zu entwickeln. Der dreigruppige Hort wurde in vorgefertigter Holzrahmenbauweise errichtet; die innere Struktur spiegelt sich in der gegliederten r\u00f6tlichen Holzfassade wider. Kreuschs k\u00fcnstlerische Fassadengestaltung versteht sich als skulpturale Erweiterung der Architektur von Baumschlager Hutter Partners \u2013 ein Kinderhort, der in seiner Anmutung einer Holzschatulle gleicht.
