Wer hat sein Laufrad im Gras liegengelassen? Wer hat seinen Teddy-B\u00e4ren verloren? Wer hat sein Elfenkost\u00fcm ausgezogen? Und warum befindet sich das alles an der Decke?<\/p>\n
Im Haus f\u00fcr Kinder Martha-N\u00e4bauer-Platz hat die M\u00fcnchner K\u00fcnstlerin Cornelia B\u00fcschbell acht kreisrund ausgeschnittene Fotografien von Kinderspielzeug an der Decke angebracht. \u201eVerkehrtherum\u201c ist der Titel ihres Kunstwerks am Bau, weil sie darin die Welt teilweise auf den Kopf stellt.<\/p>\n
\u201eTondo\u201c wird ein rundes Bild genannt. Die Foto-Arbeit besteht aus jeweils vier Tondi pro Etage. Sie zieren die Decke des Foyers im Erdgeschoss und des zentralen Vorraums im Obergeschoss. Die Aufnahmen wurden auf Gewebe gedruckt und als mit LED-Lampen hinterleuchtete, runde Leuchtk\u00e4sten in die Decke eingelassen. Das sorgt etwa im Erdgeschoss daf\u00fcr, dass das Gr\u00fcn der Wiese, in der das Spielzeug liegt, besonders saftig aussieht. Im Obergeschoss pr\u00e4gt hingegen strahlendes Himmelblau die Atmosph\u00e4re. Die K\u00fcnstlerin verwendet hier ein weiteres Motiv mit langer Tradition: Denn eine Rund\u00f6ffnung, die den Blick nach oben freigibt und den Bezug zum Himmel herstellt, ist seit der Antike ein wichtiges Element in der Architektur.<\/p>\n
Viele K\u00fcnstler bezogen sich seither auf die Antike. Zugleich wurde auch die Kunst der Augen-T\u00e4uschung perfektioniert, darum waren in Renaissance und Barock gemalte Rund\u00f6ffnungen ein beliebtes Motiv. Cornelia B\u00fcschbell wiederum hat sich f\u00fcr ihre Arbeit \u201everkehrtherum\u201c von Andrea Mantegnas \u201eCamera degli Sposi\u201c, der Brautkammer im Herzogspalast von Mantua, inspirieren lassen. Sie setzt die \u201eWow-Effekte\u201c der Deckenmalerei mithilfe aktueller Technik in die Gegenwart fort.<\/p>\n
Auch hier \u00f6ffnet sich der Raum scheinbar zum Himmel. Und aus jedem der runden Fenster-Attrappen schauen Kinder herab. Sie gucken interessiert zu uns herunter \u2013 als ob sie seltene K\u00e4fer und Schmetterlinge beobachten w\u00fcrden. \u00dcber ihnen ziehen die Wolken. Ihre Blicke sind eine Einladung zum Perspektivwechsel \u2013 und Anregung zur Neugier auf eine Welt jenseits des Offensichtlichen.<\/p>\n

Who left their balance bike lying in the grass? Who\u2019s lost their teddy bear? Who took off their elf costume? And why is all of it on the ceiling?<\/p>\n
At the daycare center on Martha N\u00e4bauer Platz, the Munich-based artist Cornelia B\u00fcschbell has attached eight round photographs of toys to the ceiling. “Verkehrtherum” (\u201cupside down\u201d) is the title of her Art in Architecture project, because in it she turns some of the world on its head.<\/p>\n
Tondo is the art historical term for a circular picture. The photographic work here is made up of four tondi per story. On the ground floor, they ornament the entrance hall\u2019s ceiling and the ceiling of the central anteroom on the upper story. The photos are printed on fabric and, backlit by LED lights, they are placed in round light boxes and set into the ceiling. On the ground floor, for instance, this makes the green meadow in which the bike lies look especially lush. In contrast, on the upper floor, a radiant sky blue permeates the atmosphere. Here, the artist uses another motif with a long tradition behind it: the circular opening that reveals a view overhead, establishing a relationship with the sky, has been an important element in architecture since antiquity.<\/p>\n
And many artists have referred to antiquity ever since. At the same time, the art of trompe-l\u2019oeil was being perfected, so round mural openings in the ceiling were a popular motif during the Renaissance and baroque periods. Cornelia B\u00fcschbell\u2019s work on verkehrtherum has in turn been inspired by Andrea Mantegna\u2019s Camera degli Sposi, the bridal chamber in the Duke\u2019s palace in Mantua. She uses contemporary techniques to carry on with the \u201cwow effect\u201d of ceiling mural painting today.<\/p>\n
Here, too, the room seems to open up to the sky. And out of each of the false, round windows, children look down at us with interest, as if they were examining rare beetles and butterflies. Above them, clouds pass by. Das mehrteilige Kunstwerk der K\u00fcnstlerin Cornelia B\u00fcschbell entstand f\u00fcr den Neubau des Hauses f\u00fcr Kinder Martha-N\u00e4bauer-Platz 14 in der Gerberau in Allach-Untermenzing. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Kunst-am-Bau-Projekt der Ausbauoffensive Kindertageseinrichtungen.
