Ein kleiner Junge, beh\u00e4ngt mit den Insignien der Trashkultur, sitzt auf einem Maultier und reitet keck durch den Park. Ab und an st\u00f6\u00dft das Tier Rufe aus. Einem Comic-Strip oder einem Zeichentrickfilm entwischt, knallbunt lackiert, frech pr\u00e4sentiert wird der Bengel zum Sinnbild des Zeitgeistes, dem Hier und Jetzt ein vorl\u00e4ufiges Denkmal gesetzt, nicht durch Zufall in direkter Nachbarschaft zum Feuchtwanger-Gymnasium. W\u00e4hrend aber die Kinder dort Mathematik und Latein b\u00fcffeln m\u00fcssen, hat sich ihr Mitsch\u00fcler auf den Weg gemacht, um die gro\u00dfe weite Welt zu erkunden \u2013 ein moderner Nomade, der ebenso absurd und weltfremd wie sympathisch und hoffnungsvoll wirkt.<\/p>\n
Die D\u00fcsseldorfer K\u00fcnstlerin Pia Stadtb\u00e4umer hat dem Motiv des klassischen, figurativen Reiterstandbildes, dem pomp\u00f6sen Auftritt der Ludwigs und Leopolds auf den Pl\u00e4tzen M\u00fcnchens ihr Denkmal f\u00fcr die Aktualit\u00e4t des Augenblicks provokativ gegen\u00fcber gestellt: der Eint\u00f6nigkeit des Marmors und der Bronze den bunten Lack, dem reinrassigen Pferd das einfache Maultier, der w\u00fcrdevollen Positur die schlacksige Beil\u00e4ufigkeit, den traditionellen Insignien der Macht \u2013 Schwert, Uniform, Zepter \u2013 die Alltagssymbole der Jugendkultur, den Ghettobluster und das Skateboard.<\/p>\n
Doch die unbeschwerte Heiterkeit des Jugendlichen hat auch etwas unvermittelt Tragisches. Der moderne Don Quichote hat zwar das Selbstbewusstsein von Max und Moritz, aber auch von diesen beiden wei\u00df man: \u201eMeister M\u00fcller, he, heran! Mahl er das, so schnell er kann! Her damit! Und in den Trichter sch\u00fcttet er die B\u00f6sewichter. Rickeracke! Rickeracke! Geht die M\u00fchle mit Geknacke.\u201c Aber gerade diese fr\u00f6hliche Unbeschwertheit des Jugendlichen, sein entspannt-l\u00e4ssige Sitzhaltung, sein Hab und Gut als Sinnbilder der ertr\u00e4umten Autonomie, der keck nach hinten gerutschte Hut, sein forscher Blick nach vorn sind selbstbewusste, vertrauensvolle Zeichen in die Zukunft einer gerade begonnenen Zeitreise \u2013 Go!<\/p>\n","werk_txt_long_en":"

Every once in a while the animal brays. An escapee from a comic strip or an animated film, brightly painted and cheekily presented, the urchin becomes a symbol of the zeitgeist, a temporary monument to the here and now\u2014and it is no coincidence that it is placed near the Feuchtwanger School. While the children there, however, have to bone up on mathematics and Latin, their fellow student has gone out to explore the great, wide world\u2014a modern nomad who appears to be as absurd and unworldly as he is sympathetic and hopeful.<\/p>\n
The D\u00fcsseldorf artist Pia Stadtb\u00e4umer has provocatively contrasted the motif of the classic, figural equestrian statue\u2014the pompous presentations of Ludwigs and Leopolds on the squares of Munich\u2014with her monument to the topicality of the moment: the monotony of marble and bronze contrasted with colorful paint, the purebred horse with the simple mule, the dignified pose with gawky informality, the traditional insignia of power (sword, uniform, scepter) with ordinary symbols of youth culture, such as the ghetto blaster and the skateboard. Yet, there is also something directly tragic about the boy\u2019s carefree cheer. Even though this modern Don Quixote has the self-confidence of Max and Maurice, we also know how those two troublemakers ended up: \u201cMaster Miller! Hallo, man! Grind me that, as quick as you can! \u2018In with \u2018em!\u2019 Each wretched flopper \/ Headlong goes into the hopper.
