Working in all different kinds of media, the artists invited or selected by the Commission create works of art conceived especially for the site and its users.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, ceramic objects are turned into artistically designed guidance systems for preschool children, such as \u201cObst &amp; Gem\u00fcse\u201d by the Berlin artist <a href=\"http:\/\/niginbeck.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nigin Beck<\/a>. Other artists take advantage of the whole height of a building to create sculptures that reach upward from the ground floor to the top story, as the Danish, Berlin-based artist <a href=\"https:\/\/christianfalsnaes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christian Falsnaes<\/a> did with his piece \u201cKorper\u201d. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anjabuchheister.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anja Buchheister<\/a>, an artist living in Ireland, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sven-kalden.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sven Kalden<\/a>, from Kassel, start by having discussions with the users before realizing their works or collaborating on them. Others, such as the Austrian duo Claudia Plank &amp; Hans Werner Poschauko, the Austrian collective <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gelitin.net\/projects\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gelitin<\/a>, or the Norwegian artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.verenaissel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Verena Isse<\/a>l enliven existing white walls with intensely colorful mosaics or reliefs.<\/p>\n<p>Others use a variety of means to create special atmospheres through their artworks made of light \u2014 for example, Munich artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alberthien.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Albert Hien<\/a> and his \u201cCarpe Diem\u201d in the tower of the Oskar-von-Miller-Gymnasium, or Olaf Nicolai and his \u201cFreiham illuminata \/\/ Luce del respiro\u201d in the green space on the Freiham school campus. In Ilit Azoulay\u2019s multimedia piece \u201cDigital Amnesia or Constructed Memory\u201d, history and the history of the site are the focus. Berlin-based <a href=\"https:\/\/nevinaladag.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevin Alada\u011f<\/a> connects places around the world through the formal vocabulary for her floor piece, \u201cPattern of Fame\u201d, constructed out of specially made terrazzo tiles, while also addressing issues of ancestry, identity, and belonging.<\/p>\n<p>In the center section of this booklet, the artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philippgufler.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philipp Gufler<\/a> discusses in an interview the artwork he made in 2021 for the Lerchenau sports facility, as well as his practice of art. In his work, the artist sheds a critical light on how Western history is written and advocates for visibility for queer figures, groups, and forgotten places. Basis ist die konzeptuelle Auseinandersetzung mit Paradigmen von Wirklichkeitserfahrung, Raumwahrnehmung und Raumdarstellung.\r\n\r\nAnja Buchheister (*1978 in Wolfenb\u00fcttel) lebt und arbeitet in Tipperary\/Irland. Von 2004 bis 2011 studierte sie Bildhauerei an der Akademie der Bildenden K\u00fcnste in M\u00fcnchen und war Meistersch\u00fclerin von Professor Stephan Huber. Davor schloss sie ein Kommunikationsdesign-Studium in Mannheim ab. Plank und Poschauko studierten an der Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr angewandte Kunst bei Maria Lassnig und Ernst Caramelle und anschlie\u00dfend in einem Postgraduate Programm an der Jan van Eyck Academie Maastricht bei Guillaume Bijl, Mona Hatoum, Jimmie Durham und Jean Fisher. Claudia Plank und Hans Werner Poschauko leben in Wien. Ihre Arbeiten zeichnen sich durch eine konzeptuell-poetische Herangehensweise aus, die Ausdruck in so unterschiedliche Medien wie Installation, Performance, Video, Malerei und Skulptur findet.
